This reminds me of a concept for a controller that I made a long time ago, before I understood gaming consoles. Instead of a right stick, it had a weird spinner-like arrow, and a horizontal-only D-pad (i.e. < and > buttons) beneath it. As a matter of fact, I was thinking about how to port IWL to a miniature gaming system with only a D-pad and two action buttons earlier today...
