I have some homebrew on my ds, you have to put it on a special cartridge that can run any ds roms on your ds, i assume its similar to what you do for 3ds games

no, you need to do a bit more than that (like figure out the id of your console)
you also have to swap the sd card between your 3ds and computer several times
