Adium emerges from a portal into Fort Jack, a square-walled fort on a hillside somewhere under the midday sun. Piles of equipment are stashed here and there - arms, armour, talismans, jewelry, corpses both animal and beastial, stacks of stone and wood and glass, and several dimensional rifts cut into the fabric of reality. He rummages through the stores until he comes up with a few golden rings, which he tosses into his mouth and bites down on.

The metal melts between his teeth, releasing a surge of magic. Power floods into his mouth, his chest, his limbs, seeking out the wounds that mar his body and knitting them back together. Bones creak back into place, gashes close as quickly as they were made, burns fade and disappear into pristine skin. By the time the magic fades, Adium feels as though he was forty years younger.


Damian focuses and bends his will towards the howling blizzard that engulfs the battlefield. Merely maintaining it in its current form takes incredible concentration, but with a superhuman feat of willpower he draws it inwards, focusing the wrath of the storm into a region barely wider than the hill itself. Screaming wind scours the field, and hailstones the size of Damian's head leave craters where they strike the ground.


Phet takes the Broken Soul off her neck and tosses it into the knapsack. She reaches her hand in after it, retrieving a fistful of shadow. A flick of the wrist unfolds an impossibly thin garment of woven shadow which she throws around her skeletal shoulders. Hefting the chain-sickle, haft in one hand and coiled chain in the other, she steps out of Keli's shelter.

Immediately she feels the wrath of the blizzard which threatens to drag her off her feet. She fights the wind, wading through chest-deep water towards the unsuspecting dragon. Through the haze of steam and snow, nothing can be seen of the undead mage but a faint shadow at the edge of perception.

By the time Phet stands, hurling the chain-sickle towards Enkavma, it's much too late to respond in any meaninful fashion. The chain responds to her mental commands, tangling itself around one of the dragon's golden wings. A yellow glyph glows on the haft of the weapon, and a loud hissing noise issues from the chain as the acid rune begins to eat through flesh and scale. (-1 Vitality)


Katherine reaches into her pocket and takes out the Blooded Coin. A rune is carved onto each side, one of which glows bright scarlet. She flips the coin over and touches the other rune, to which the scarlet glow transfers. Power surges into her mind, and she puts the coin away. Ialhrethnia'a, the bow of the first Magi, trembles in her hands as she sets arrow to string. Katherine draws, the effort as much mental as physical. A red crystal arrow glints with light as she levels it towards Enkavma.

She looses the arrow. A ray of crimson splits the battlefield, a streak of blood and crystal closing the gap between the shooter and the dragon. The arrow strikes true, impacting just between Enkavma's eyes.

The dragon screeches in pain as a shockwave ripples outwards from the force of impact, carrying with it a thousand shards of bloody crystal. So powerful are the shards that they strike through Enkavma's armour, shattering even its thickest scales. (-5 Vitality)


Jack cuts the air with Shattered Eternities, ripping open a portal. Forks of lightning lash out from the portal to the sound of rumbling thunder, sending electricity coursing through the water and into Enkavma's legs. Protected within the earthen shelter, he just manages to avoid being shocked himself. (-3 Vitality)

He follows this attack by reaching into his pack and retrieving a glass orb. Within the orb, a coiled green vine glows with electricity. He winds back and tosses the vine towards Enkavma, but the orb misses its mark. It splashes down into the water nearby without shattering, rapidly sinking to the bottom. Finally, he leaps from the shelter and rushes towards the dragon as fast as the water will allow him. He weaves between stomping feet and slashing claws to touch one of the dragon's legs. His hand glows with a gray-white light, and a rune forms on the beast's scales. Though the dragon doesn't appear to be harmed by this, it is unable to pursue Jack as he escapes back to the safety of their shelter.


Two pillars of white-hot light plunge from the sky, impacting the stormclouds with hisses and booms. Neither manage to penetrate the combination of Damian's blizzard and Jack's magical forcefield.

Enkavma exhales a torrent of fire, covering the battlefield in a blazing inferno and vaporizing the top layer of water. The flames streak past the party's shelter, dropping dirt on their heads but failing to cause any real damage.

Undead: Immune to necrosis, poison, insanity, and supernatural fear. Substances or magics that heal humans will instead harm the undead.
Scavenger: Bones can be collected from human corpses and used to replace damaged body parts.
Phylactery: Cannot be killed while wearing Tristan's Cloak. If the cloak is removed or destroyed, will be deanimated. The destruction of the skull during this time will result in death.

Mageking's Mark: Magic can be made more powerful by channeling the user's own lifeforce. Channeling lifeforce inflicts injuries on the user proportional to the amount channeled.

Heir of Reformation: +1 AC, +2 agility. When an attack against you fails, the floating stones and surrounding terrain launch a counterattack against the attacker.
Enchanted Blood: You draw strength from consuming magic. You can absorb the magic from enchanted items or the corpses of extremely magical beings, converting it into vitality for yourself.
Wild Magic: If your left hand is empty, you cannot use magic. If not, your magic is imbued with power relating to the object in your left hand. After use, this object changes into a random, unrelated object.

Winterlord: Can create or disperse blizzards and adverse winter conditions over an area. Can also manipulate freezing winds, including using them to achieve flight.

Frozen Talons: +3 unarmed attack. Can make up to three unarmed attacks in one turn against the same or different targets. If agility is hindered in any way, make only one unarmed attack.

Fell Wind: You are able to move with short bursts of blinding speed. +8 agility, immunity to single-target attacks, and can teleport once per turn to a location within 30 feet if unobstructed. A cold wind drags nearby objects with you and scatters them at your end location.

Feeding: You can drink the blood of a living organism once to heal two minor or one severe injury.

Hemomancy: You gain +1 unarmed attack for every minor injury you currently suffer from. You also gain the ability to manipulate spilled blood and freeze it into ice. Finally, you can manipulate the blood within a mortal organism, though you must succeed on a contest-of-wills roll. However, the organism only uses half of its usual contest-of-wills bonus for this roll.

The game will end when the final boss is defeated. The dragon is only the penultimate boss though.
