World Name: Toxicoloa
World Tag (2-5 characters long): PB-CD
Brief description: A strange...pocket dimension of sorts? It just has a portal to the pocket dimension in place of just a planet. Anyways, the landscape is made out of entirely toxic elements(lead, cadmium, basically just about any toxic element you can think of), and the air is made out of entirely mercury vapors. Roaming the lands are elementals that are made out of the toxic elements that make up the landscape, and usually take the form of different species from other worlds. These elementals eat lots of the toxic elements that are in the landscape. They don't eat each other, though, but they REALLY hate each other and often have fights for territory.
Native races (List doesn't have to be complete!): Lead Elementals, Cadmium Elementals, Arsenic Elementals, Bromine Elementals, Polonium Elementals, Plutonium Elementals, Mercury(the liquid kind) Elementals (+More)
Other: Any elementals from this planet HAVE to wear a special hazmat suit when entering other worlds, in order to prevent accidentally poisoning others. Same goes for other races entering Toxicoloa.
I'm sparkycinnamon (formerly known as cheesyfriedeggs), but you can call me Cheesy, Spark, or Pipes. I like a lot of things, but the fandoms I am fixating on the most at the moment are object shows, Alphabet Lore, and KaBlam!.
non-binary (they/them but she/her is fine if we're close / omniromantic asexual / click here for some stuff about me / ;)

Wouldn't the heavier elemental ones hit critical mass?

Toria calls this one the elemental plane of poisons, owing to the fact that any portal opened to it immediately releases deadly miasma all over the place.

The heavier ones would likely be on the smaller side.

Either that, or there's some weird magic going on that allows the heavier ones to be bigger.

Toxicoloa seems cool.

Quote from: ElliotTheUnknownAre the mechanical angels fine to use?

Yeah I've gone ahead and published the revised version of the original Mechanical Angel document, but without the Mechanical Angels I already made for the time.

Souls and Soul Revival
By Aurora Ehko

Introduction
This article discusses souls, and how souls are used in Revival. It is important to note that this article discusses the mechanics and information of souls in our universe. The one in which apollo is. Souls and their application are a very new field of science, and there is much we don't know. This article will go over some of What We Know About Souls, What We Assume About Souls, and What We Want To Know About Souls.

What We Know About Souls
We know souls exist because of the Seriph-Bylek Receiver, informally known as a Spectremeter. The SBR can detect people who die, and receive information about them. The information is interpreted, and a person is reconstructed.
Souls are a very recent discovery, and not much is known about them. However, there are somethings we know for sure.
Souls are the component that allows us to create a person from a Resurrector (AKA Resurrecter). We know this because we can recreate an entire body from a person's genome, but we cannot recreate brain activity, so without the soul, the Resurrector cannot revive a person, and the created body will be a corpse because it will not breath. It has been theorized that a living person could be eventually created by stimulating nerves manually, but such research is generally considered unethical.

Oddly, a person who is resurrected will retain physical scars and injuries from the time they are revived if a soul is detectable, which would be impossible to recreate from just their genome.

We know that a Resurrector can receive information from somewhere and give the person it creates their memories, and we know that the information is not bound to physical distance, as we receive the same information about a person no matter where the Seriph-Byler Receiver is.

Occasionally, the resurrection process will fail, even if the soul can be detected and machine and operator error can be ruled out.

Finally, no one can recall the experience of being a soul. They share the same memories of those who revive after clinical death. Mere emptiness.

What We Assume About Souls
The assumption that a so called "soul" is a mythological, traditional, soul at all is in fact, just a common belief. In the centuries we've had this technology for, we cannot prove the existence of an afterlife. There used to be a theory that souls could just be some mark that people leave of a so-called metaphysical plane. That information of ourselves was recorded the way a river leaves a mark on rock.

However, it has been reasonably proven that a person chooses the age at which they were revived, because when asking someone to return at a specific physical age, they were reconstructed at the requested age, complete with scars and lost limbs they had. They can also be reconstructed at different physical ages, for example, if a biologically 20 year old male has both arms, lost their left arm at 21, were reconstructed at the physical age of 20 and lost their right arm, they can be revived at chronological age, so with a missing right arm or left arm.

There is, however, a theory that souls are still not sentient, and the outcome the machine produces is merely a product of the life a person has lead.

Unfortunately, any other attempts to establish communication with a person after they have died have failed.

It was stated before that sometimes someone cannot revive even though their soul can be detected. There is some correlation with this happening with people who have stated in life that they no longer want to live, so the leading theory is that such people refuse to be resurrected. Sometimes this happens to people who do not express such sentiments, even when the person has not expressed such feelings. The explanation is that those people chose to move on to the afterlife, but since we cannot communicate with the dead, and we cannot definitively prove the existence of the afterlife, this theory cannot be confirmed.

What we Want to Know About Souls
As stated, we have only scratched the tip of the iceberg regarding souls and their related technology. Some popular questions that have not yet been answered are:
[li]Why can't we communicate with souls, even when asking people to revive at biological certain ages as a form of communication?[/li]
[li]Is there an afterlife?[/li]
[li]What is it like as a soul?[/li]
[li]Why can't anyone remember the experience of death?[/li]
[li]What are the implications for humans not from our universe being incompatible with Resurrector technology?[/li]
[li]Will we ever answer all of these questions?[/li]
