"What do you see up there?" shouts Edward.

Sukre pulls the arrows from the tree before looking at the pile of things. "There's a pile of stuff and some arrows. I think they are poisoned. And by they I mean the arrows. The arrows are poisoned, yes, and I think they poisoned the tree. Or maybe hurt it? Try healing it again."

Zach tries another healing spell, but this time he tailors it specifically to counteract poison.

"Why would someone poison a tree by way of arrows?" asks Edward to the group in general.

The pile contains some torn clothes, a flimsy-looking bow with a few (non-poisoned) arrows, a small bag with various, mostly useless, things in it, and a small plank of wood with a symbol you don't recognise carved into it.

A bit of the poisoned part of the tree seems to recover, but some other parts still look bad.

Sukre takes the plank and the arrows and descends from the tree. "Onwards and upwards, then, yes?" she says.

"I don't know if I can ascend such flora, mighty though I am, my body of steel has too much weight."

Sukre takes some stuff from the pile and climbs down.


The sun has just set, and it's starting to get dark.

"Anyone got something we can camp with? Looks like we're gonna have to sleep the night here."

"Surely you took care to procure your own camping supplies?"

Zach thinks for a second before removing his lab coat. He carefully uses a spell to enlarge the coat. After he enlarges it to the right size, Zach looks for a low hanging branch to drape the coat over.

Sukre finds a comfortable stone to lie on. One must not desire too much in this life.

Edward can remain magically animated for one night or one day without sunlight.

The party sets up camp, and goes to sleep for the night.

In the morning, as they're getting ready to move on, an arrow flies past Sukre, landing in a tree behind her. Looking where the arrow came from, there seem to be several figures hiding in the forest.

Zach shrinks his coat back down to its original size and puts it on.

Edward charges to the front

Sukre, in turn, charges to the back and readies a ranged lightning spell.

Edward runs forwards, and the figures jump out and prepare to fight the group. Two of them are wielding bows, while there are two more in front, with a spear and an axe respectively.

Time for a fight!

Edward engages the axe-wielder.
With a roar and a rush, he brings his blade toward his foe, cleaving right to left.

"On your guard, knaves!"

Lolly appears to be missing, perhaps she lost track of the group at some point and wandered off?

Zach casts an energy spell to boost the party's attacks.

The bandit tries to block, but several of Edward's swings connect, knocking him back.

Her arrow catches Edward off guard, as it hits a weak spot in his armour.

The 2nd bow bandit shoots back at Sukre.
Bow bandit: Shoot: 12 +3 (Agi) +2 (to hit) = 17
Sukre: Dodge: 12 +3 (Agi) +1 (shield) = 16

Sukre nearly dodges away, but the arrow grazes the side of her body.
Sukre: HP -7


The spear-wielding bandit runs towards the shield spike and tries to hit Jimmy through it.
Spear bandit: Attack: 2 +2 (Agi) +2 (to hit) = 6
Jimmy: Block: 18 -1 (Agi) +3 (kite shield) +2 (scale mail) = 22
Shield spike: Actually work: 8

Her attack is deflected by the shield spike, which deals a bit of damage back to her as well.


The axe user swings back at Edward.

Edward: Dodge: 16 -1 (Agi) +2 (shield) +2 (natural armour) = 21

Edward blocks the attack easily with his shield.
