"Can't I come in to look around? He sounds really cool! Maybe I'll serve him or something."

"Wait, I've heard of him. Read a lot on him, back in the day" Brad had actually read up on the sun-quencher, a while back. Would he know everything? No.

"Oh! Is he cool? Like someone we want to serve under?" Jacob asked, while nodding, trying to signal Brad to agree.

"Not exactly one to serve, he has a sufficient army and punishment is severe"

"Uh... he doesn't speak for me."

"I don't remember ever being told anything about a shadow," Teddy said. "Just something about a... oh, how did they put it? 'Recently unsealed evil'?"

"Evil? You mean good. We should go in and see if we can serve."

"Well, excuses. I shall not comment who decided to just shower me with thy ice shards, but I can not be idle. Let us just enter, and waste no time." Nate conjures triple bone blade, to be ready to throw them at enemies, in case there were any.

"Oh... sorry about that. I guess there's no more point in pretending to be followers so we can sneak in."

Jacob summons flame chains.

"Yo yo yo, what's up guys," Gilbert says, arriving to the ruins fashionably late as he always does, casually swinging his three rad chains as he enters. "What seems to be the sitch in here? Oh hey, are those guys cultists? That's rad."

Jacob implies that he might be interested in serving the Shadow, then spends several minutes arguing with Teddy and brad when they refuse to play along. The cultist opens his mouth to reply, but is cut off when Nate shouts an incantation. Three ivory swords appear in front of his hands. They hover there for several seconds, blades pointed towards the cultists, then anticlimactically drop to the ground.

Since his cover is broken, Jacob points at the cultist he was just parlaying with and casts a spell of his own. Streams of flame pour from his outstretched finger. They wrap around each other in midair, becoming chains of elemental fire. They swerve towards the cultist, who responds by backpedaling and speaking another few words of power. An orb of blood forms in front of his hand. He lobs it at Jacob's chains, and the two spells collide in a cloud of reddish steam. Both are gone when the fog clears.

The two remaining cultists draw their weapons. The one on the right is wielding a crossbow, which he aims at Nate's chest. Nate throws himself out of the way, but the bolt still clips him. It leaves a bloody gash in his side. The other unsheathes a dagger. He advances on Gilbert, who still hasn't noticed the fight.

Tip of The Day:

Talking is always an option. \//'s ploy was a good idea - had you rolled well, it might have gotten you much deeper into the ruins.

It's a bit of a shame that it didn't end up happening, but c'est la vie.

oops i ruined everything

Teddy summons a lightning shield to protect himself with before advancing towards the cultists, ahead of the rest of the party.

Nate tries to pick up the blades, but deciding they're no use, just conjures a water orb to try and choke the cultist with a crossbow.
(Well, at least we can kill them for weapons, which we don't have much of yet. Only spells and nothing more.)

I literally do not know how much sticky ice would help in this situation, but Jacob throws an Adhesive Ice Orb at knife cultist.

"Blood magic?"

Gilbert casts a Triple Crystal Chain around the Cultist going after him to restrain him. "Woah, dudes, it's cool, it's cool, I'm not with these other guys, I'm all for cult stuff, cults are super rad and I haven't met these other dudes before in my life."

Brad summons a water hammer and defends himself from any incoming cultists.
