Pretty sure LFH never learned any skill called "improvise." The closest thing I know of is the ability to use anything as a weapon, which mentions no such restriction.

Sir Trojan begins screaming in a language that nobody recognizes. After a while, he stops and falls asleep. Xavier walks out from behind a cardboard box.

Xavier: Like I was saying, you should go back to TBGTown before heading to Mt. Discord. You might want some more equipment. I'll deal with Sir Trojan.

And that's it folks. I'm going to move this to a new topic so that I can clean up some issues I have with how I made this. (And to see if anyone is actually interested in an RPG made by me now.)
