Tutorial type thing (You can make your move for the first turn but it won't actually happen until the game's full)

Pretty much, as long as you say something that makes sense I'll do it. For example, you can say:
Quote from: example1Move all my settlers towards B4.
and I'll do that until you say something different (taking the fastest route).
Or you could say:
Quote from: example2Move 2 of the settlers on B1 to B2, move the other 5 to C1 and build a house.
and I'll do exactly that.
You don't have to say "move to space x and gather", I'll just assume you want your settlers to gather whenever you move to a space unless you want them to build.

Move 2 settlers to J1 and the rest towards K3

All right. The settlers going to K3 will reach there next turn so you don't have to tell them to do anything.

got it

Blunderbus

Remember that you can try to get new settlers once per turn. Right now you've got a guaranteed chance to get a new one and it'll only cost you 5 food and water, and since all your settlers are near your starting space anyway it'd be pretty easy to get them somewhere useful. If you want to try for another settler, just say something like "Attract settler" or similar.

I think I will keep them there for another turn (they will gather resources, right?)

Yep, as long as your settlers aren't building anything / at the trade shop they'll always gather
