Overview
This game is about battling the most famous names of fiction and history: The Beatles against the Stones. The Doctor against Sherlock Holmes. Superman against Goku.
This is the final showdown of everyone, fictional or historical.

Rules
State two famous people (fictional or real). They must be fairly well known, and should have something in common that makes it a worthwhile comparison. You should state the reason too (for example - Sauron vs. Voldemort. Reason: two famous fantasy villains). Note that they can be groups too, such as bands or teams.
The next person says who they think wins, and states a reason why. Please do not be biased - think about it carefully. The reasons can be based on various reasons, including popularity of the characters to who would win in a fight.
Try and make each one unique. If you like a previously mentioned one, say 'rematch', and post it again to see what the next person will think.

You're characters/people can be from a variety of places, for example:
Television (Eg: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vs Power Rangers)
Cinema (Eg: Terminator vs Robocop)
Literature (Eg: Harry Potter vs Bilbo Baggins)
Gaming (Eg: Mario vs Sonic)
Sport (Eg: Babe Ruth vs Tiger Woods)
Music (Eg: Elvis Presley vs Michael Jackson)
Art (Eg: Vincent Van Gogh vs Andy Warhol)
Theater (Eg: Rowan Atkinson vs John Cleese)
History (Eg: Winston Churchill vs Adolf Hitler)

Provide a justified explanation as to why you think said person wins, and use common sense to make sure that the pairings are logical.

Allow me to begin this showdown...

Count Dracula vs. Edward Cullen
Reason: Famous Fictional Vampires, also a battle of old versus new.

Dracula would win, because even the Count from Sesame Street is more of a vampire than Edward will ever be.

Wordgirl has the advantage over George, with her superpowers, but George is quite the wildcard.  I'd say the battle would likely be a tie.


Simon Belmont Vs. Buffy

Reason:  She has an endless supply of cars that she gives to everyone, and can release a massive swarm of bees.


GLaDOS Vs. HAL 9000
Self-aware futuristic robots

Depends on where the fight was. If the battle was in Apeture, Glados. On a spaceship, HAL. (Both because the bot would have control of where the fight was.)

Steve (Minecraft) vs Mario
Reason: Popular video game characters

Mario!
His powerups completely overpower Steve's tools and weapons, and in terms of popularity, Mario definitely trumps Steve.

Reason: Two classic comic strip characters and their animal friends.

Reason: 2 Famous  characters on opposing teems

Reason: Both are very famous bands

Beatles. They're just more famous I guess.

Bobby Fischer vs Boris Spassky.
Reason: two famous chess world champions.

Fischer of course, he beat Spassky in 1972!

Mickey Mouse vs. Bugs Bunny
Reasons: Two extremely iconic cartoon animals.

You actually know who they are? You have my respect.

Bugs Bunny. He is more amusing.

Bill Gates vs Steve Jobs.

Reason: Two people famous for creating two rival computer companies.

Chuck Norris.

Just kidding. Bill Gates. He's richer and not dead.

Monk vs Shawn Spencer.
Reason: Two TV detectives.

Monk in a heartbeat.

Saxton Hale vs Bruce Lee
Reason: Why not?

Bruce Lee, because he has a Pokemon named after him.

Misty vs May.

Reason: two female supporting characters from the Pokemon anime.

hm... may. newer.



Cilan vs. Brock

two supporting male characters from the pokemon anime.

Brock. He was more funny, amazing, and generally awesome than Cilan will ever be.

Nikola Tesla vs Thomas Edison.

Both investors who did a lot with electricity and didn't really like each other.

(Remember guys, state your reasons! Saying '[insert winner here] in a heartbeat' does not qualify as an explanation, and 'Why not?' is not a valid reason to pair people.)

Nikola Tesla - he is a brilliant inventor who died pretty unrecognized, whereas Edison cruised on other peoples fame and didn't invent most of the inventions he is credited for.

Shirley Temple vs Honey Boo Boo
Reason:
Two cutesy female child celebrities... one modern star and another from the 30s.

Shirley Temple because she can sing.

Lead singer of Coldplay vs Lead singer of OneRepublic
Reason: Two lead singers of modern bands that I both enjoy.

Ryan Tedder would beat Chris Martin, because Ryan can play more instruments.  (i'm assuming the lead vocalist is the leader of the band.)


Gandalf vs. Dumbledore
Reason:  WIZARDS.

(Yes. That's who I meant.)

Dumbledore, because he can just use 'Avada kadavra'.

Katniss vs. Jonah
Reason: Both people living in dystopian societies.

I think Katniss would win, because she can fight.  Jonah, being a prophet or something, doesn't really know how to fight.
