This RPG won't be very good. It will be kinda bad in fact. Anyways...

It is 202X. You all live in the small village of Small Village. You are all part of Small Village's guard, either due to expertise with item usage or magic. However, there's a problem. Small Village relies on food sent from the capital city, Capital City, in order to survive. However, recent shipments have not arrived. You have been instructed to travel to Capital City to investigate the issue.

Rules:
General:
1. Follow TBGForums rules.
2. Characters may carry up to 5 items in their personal inventory at a time. This includes unequipped weapons, consumables, and accessories. A character may equip a single weapon at a time. Items obtained are given to whoever has the least items in their inventory. If nobody has space, the party is given a chance to discard items to make room. Outside of combat, items may be purchased freely. Key items are stored separately.
3. Feel free to go wild with your character. Make humans, non-humans, multiple characters all in one, whatever. The only rules are that your character must function as a single combatant in battle, must not have story-breaking powers, and must not have more abilities than are allowed by the signup sheet and level-ups.

Combat:
1. Combat consists of rounds. Each round, all combatants get turns in a specific order.
2. On your turn, you may take one action unless you have something to grant extra actions. In your signup sheet, please put your username in all lowercase somewhere other than your character's name.
3: These are the actions that are typically available in combat:
     A. Strike: Attack with your equipped weapon. Select targets as appropriate. Deals 1d30+fitness to a single target damage unless your weapon says otherwise.
     B. Magic: Cast a spell.
     C. Item: Use an item in your inventory.
     D. Equip: Swap your equipped weapon with a weapon in your inventory.
     E. Pass: Pass an item in your pockets to an ally who has space to accept it. The recipient may choose to reject your item.
     F. Defend: You take half damage and are immune to statuses until your next turn.
     G. Idle: Do nothing.
     H. Escape: Look for an escape route. On success, party may vote on whether to flee a battle.
4. Status effects decrease by 1 round at the end of each round.
5. HP can go negative. Regular healing moves may target incapacitated allies, but only effects that set an incapacitated target's health are guaranteed to heal them enough.
6. Everyone must decide all their actions before any actions occur. No conditional actions (i.e. If Joe's spell works do this, otherwise...) are allowed.
7. After everyone posts or once 24 hours pass without all players posting, I will post "Actions locked in." on the topic. Once this post is made, all posts or edits to actions made afterwards will be ignored.
8. If you do not post before actions are locked in, I will decide on an action for your character.

Boss points (BP):
At the start of a boss battle, you gain BP equal to 5 times your level. BP has the following uses:
1. If MP is depleted, BP can be used to power spells at a 1:1 ratio of MP to BP. You may use a mix of BP and MP to fuel a spell.
2. As an action, you may spend up to 5 BP to regain MP at a 2:1 ratio of MP to BP.
3. As an action, you may spend up to 5 BP to heal a party member at a 10:1 ratio of HP to BP.
4. If you are item canny, as an action, you may spend BP equal to the cost of an item in the shop to add that item to your inventory. Items added in this way are spectral and will disappear after the battle if unused.
5. When performing an attack with a weapon, you may spend up to 10 BP. For each point of BP spent, you may perform another attack with the same weapon at half power rounded up. Attacks may be split amongst different targets.
6. If you are incapacitated, you may spend 10 BP when your turn would normally occur to be healed to half of your maximum HP. You do not take a turn after this.
BP cannot be restored by any means. Unused BP disappears after the battle ends.

Combatant limit:
1. A maximum of 5 characters may participate in combat at a time due to complexity.
2. If more characters join, they will become noncombatants, and will not participate in battle.
3. Players may volunteer to become noncombatants, allowing other players to become combatants instead.
4. Players who do not post at least once per week (or once per update if updates take more than a week) will be considered inactive and swapped for active players as combatants.
5. Players with multiple characters will only be allowed one combatant at a time if there are more than 5 characters. Players with multiple characters may swap characters freely.
6. Noncombatants will automatically spend some amount of HP and MP after each battle, as they are assumed to be fighting additional enemies offscreen.

Spring tide: Your next attack deals triple damage, but you take double damage from the next attack to hit you afterwards.
Neap tide: For two rounds, you deal and take half damage and won't be inflicted with new negative statuses.
Musical photo (2 gold): This photo allows the user to cast breakdance I. Breakdance will scale at later points, similar to a natural spell.
Breakdance I (3 MP): Regain 20% of your maximum HP. At the start of the next round, any other conscious party members may spend 1 MP to join in, regaining 10% of their maximum HP. Joining in does not require an action.
Electronic photo (2 gold): This photo allows the user to cast smart bomb I. Smart bomb will scale at later points, similar to a natural spell.

HP: 80/80
MP: 30/30
Quirk: Select a single quirk from the list of quirks below.
Trait: Select a single trait from the list of starter traits below. More traits may be gained later.
Stats: Split 20 point among the following 6 stats, do not put more than 10 in a single stat.
Fitness: This stat is added to your physical attacks.
Intelligence: This stat boosts your magic. If you are item canny, every 10 points in this stat lets you use an extra item in a single action.
Fortitude: This stat reduces damage taken from physical attacks. Each point reduces 2 damage.
Willpower: This stat reduces damage taken from magical attacks. Each point reduces 2 damage.
Luck: This stat is the chance (as a percentage) that your attacks get a critical hit or that enemy attacks miss.
Agility: This stat determines turn order. Every 10 points in this stat grants you an extra turn as if your agility was reduced by 10.
Spells: Describe two spells which may be used in combat. I will decide the MP cost of the spells. You will unlock upgraded versions of your spells later.
Inventory: Spend up to 25 gold in the shop above. If your starter trait is item canny, you gain a bonus 50 gold. Excess gold is lost.
Level-ups: Apply level-ups as described below. Currently, there are 0 level-ups available.
Other:

Starter traits:
Night vision: User can see in dark locations and isn't hindered by darkness in battle.
Weather resilience: User does not suffer negative effects from weather.
Item canny: Inventory space increases to 20 items. However, you are not allowed to use any magic. Some items are restricted to party members with this ability.

Quirks:
Peaceful: Enemies cannot deal a critical hit to you. You cannot deal a critical hit to enemies. Critical hits are turned into misses.
Heroic: If an ally takes a mortal hit, you have a 25% chance to take the hit yourself instead, but cannot block the attack. You can't use healing items or support moves on yourself.
Sneaky: You have a 50% chance of getting an extra turn at the start of a battle. If this fails, you lose your first turn.
Lazy: When you cast a spell, you have a 25% chance of doubling the effect and halving the cost of the spell. You also have a 25% chance of idling instead of casting the spell.
Hungry: You are twice as effective when using healing items. You have a 25% chance of using a healing item on yourself instead of an ally.
Sleepy: You gain 10 MP after each battle. You can't act on the first round of combat.
Energetic: You get two bonus turns at half of your agility on the first round. You lose your fastest turn each round until you only have 1 turn. You must start with 10 agility to have this quirk.
Easygoing: You recover from both positive and negative statuses twice as fast.
Stubborn: +4 to all stats. You cannot be healed or supported by other party members unless you are incapacitated.
Analytical: Your attacks cannot miss normally. If you are blinded or inflicted with a mood status, this benefit doesn't work and your accuracy is halved.
Statuses:
This is a list of statuses. It may be expanded later.
Sleep: Prevents actions and negates defense/blocking. Each turn, regain 10% of max HP and MP. Ends early if the afflicted combatant is attacked.
Shocked: Prevents actions and halves damage taken. 50% chance to spread to anyone who targets the afflicted combatant without clearing the status.
Frozen: Prevents actions and halves damage taken.
Petrified: Prevents actions and negates damage taken. Cannot be cleared early by any means.
Poisoned: Afflicted combatant loses 10 HP any time they use an action other than idle that doesn't clear their own poison. HP lost in this way cannot be regained until status ends.
Bleeding: Afflicted combatant loses 20 HP every round. HP lost in this way cannot be regained until status ends.
Burning: Afflicted combatant loses 20 HP every round. HP lost in this way cannot be regained until status ends. If the afflicted combatant targets another combatant or is targeted by another combatant, the status has a 50% chance to spread.
Paralyzed: Afflicted combatant cannot use weapons.
Muted: Afflicted combatant cannot use spells.
Clumsy: Afflicted combatant cannot use items.
Frightened: Afflicted may randomly flee battle or waste actions on their turns. Will not flee inescapable battles.
Numb: HP and damage taken are obscured.
Dizzy: MP and MP drained by enemy moves are obscured.
Confused: When taking an action, the afflicted combatant may take a different action, but the target will remain the same unless befuddled.
Befuddled: When taking an action, the afflicted combatant may target a different combatant, but the action will remain the same unless confused.
Rusted: A single skill is disabled. This status can only be cleared by idling.

Mostly fine, but it does break the 5 item inventory limit. Technically not against the rules, but it does mean you will immediately be forced to discard items when the game starts. I'd advise getting a weapon for attacking and since it doesn't consume an inventory slot while equipped. (Fist and foot are free if you don't want to buy a weapon.)

Something Up My Sleeve: The effects of this spell are randomly chosen at the start of combat and shown to the user. The effect of spellcards with this spell on it don't change between battles.
Inventory: 1x Cat, her name is Rabbit.
Level-ups: Apply level-ups as described below. Currently, there are 0 level-ups available.
Other: I wanted to make a character revolved around cat's ability to destroy items.

Quote from: realicraftInventory: 2 Lemons, 2 Limes, 2 Rainbow Sodas, 3 Chocolates, 1 Peach, 4 Apples
Quote from: SeanbobeCharacters may carry up to 5 items in their personal inventory at a time.
I think that's too many items?
Character seems fine.

Edit: Characters have been added to the second post.

The spell on Holly's spellcard is meant to be choosable from her list of spells.

Sorry I probably should have specified that better.

EDIT: Hopefully that's a better description.

Mostly good, but you have too many items (the Gi has its effect while in your inventory and isn't equipped). Also the other weapons will stop the Gi from working.

Other characters are fine.

Alright, I guess it's time to start.

You are all just outside a shop in Small Village. Tal, the head of the guard, has just finished explaining the food shortage to you for the seventieth time, including showing you the rising prices of goods that you are already aware of.

Tal: Anyways, that is why you shall travel to Capital City. Anyways, I was just told that a merchant named Liz is planning to make a trip there as well. If you were to travel with her, she could guide you there. I believe she said she will be in the central plaza until noon today.

According to the clock tower, it is currently 11:45. The plaza is a 10 minute walk away.

Holly wakes up from her nap for the seventieth time. "Huh? Wuzzat? Go to the plaza?" she says, waking up with a jolt.

Holly quickly heads for the plaza.

Blunderbus

"Better get a move on then. Race you all there," Larry says, before bolting off towards the plaza.

"Guess there's no reason to rush if Larry's going to keep her here..." Holly thinks as Larry bolts past her, slowing herself down to a walk.

Seanbobe

The group heads to the plaza. Larry arrives at the plaza with 9 minutes to spare. Jotaro, Bob, and Reali are next, arriving with 7 minutes to spare. Holly arrives last, with 2 minutes to spare before noon.

The plaza is mostly empty. The only other person around is a lizardfolk, who is standing near a cart carrying various foods and miscellaneous objects.
