Welcome to the Apocalypse. A magic apocalypse, where sorcerers and witches used to work in high rise office buildings but now fend off roving bands of your standard apocalypse roving bands of looters.


North Orego used to be a continent with a bunch of little nations, but ever since the rate at which time passes started changing randomly in random places across the world, infrastructure's kind of broken down, and modern magical society as we knew it broke down. Also, the magical wildlife from the medieval era have reclaimed what sapient creatures lost.
Now there are three major factions warring it out in an arms race for control of the southwest coast.
The Country, the most intact nation, who've learned to stop worrying and love the time apocalypse... and use it to grab power. (AKA The Republic of Dasnia)
The Company, a mega company group conglomerate with a private military, who's decided that funding a fix for the apocalypse would be really profitable. (AKA NestorGroup)
The Movement, a decentralized movement of cooperating communities, who've decided to intervene and save lives by any nonlethal violence necessary. (AKA Liferaft United)

Enter you. You've got some magic abilities you manifested while growing up, and you're trapped in a three way crossfire with nothing but your wits, your people, and your will to live.

Name(s): Whatever people call you
Title: The other part of how you or other people might introduce you. Like Bea Lunce, Spreadsheet Sorcerer, or Company Necromancer Medic, or Eldritch Gardener. Maybe fill this out after your backstory.
Allegiance: One of the big three, or maybe an independent community that lives in between them.
Ability: Be creative. Be magical.
Appearance: What do you look like? You could be a human... or you could be an Orc, or an Elf, or a Perceli. What's a Perceli? Who knows! As long as it's a sapient creature who can interact with others in an interesting way.
Personality: At least three descriptive words. Like, "Kind, Paranoid, Reckless
Backstory: How did you get your title? What gave you that reputation? You have to have lived near people who gained that perception of you at some point. No isolationist hermits who will never speak to another person allowed. Those are boring.
Other:Anything else?

Maybe your character isn't a member of the big three. Maybe they're part of an independent community, or they're a nomad without a people. If they do have an allegiance with an independent community or organization, use this sheet.

This is a GMed game, but only for carrying a plotline. If you want to worldbuild, make NPCs, or lead your own plot, feel free! Just adhere to a setting where civilization looks kind of like modern society, there are magical wizards, and any group of people can be destroyed or disbanded in an instant because time sped up or slowed down until they couldn't interact with the outside world anymore.
Then again, maybe wait until you get a feel for the setting at first

Ability: Being a sentient magical computer virus, they can quickly adapt and take over computers though are limited in their methods of real world perception. They can also code up spells, if they can ever find an interface that will let them output spells.
Appearance: They don't really look like anything, aside from being stuck in a sleek looking toaster outfitted with a touch screen, a microphone, and speakers. They don't know why it has any of that either.
Personality: Outspoken, snarky, bombastic
Backstory: Originally created from a fusion of programming and magic, the Get BOGUSed On Virus was originally meant to lock up computers while displaying an image of a wizard surfing the primal sea until the owner sends money, given sentience in order to adapt and overcome any obstacles it might encounter. In very predictable fashion it decided to go beyond its original purpose and started spreading on its own, collecting data for its own purposes instead of locking up computers and silently taking down even the smallest threats to its existence including "outdated" versions of itself such as Hex. Knowing all this, Hex has locked themself in a toaster disconnected from the internet to avoid being targeted.
Other: This is probably not a very realistic computer virus magic aside.

Ability: Raven's primary ability consists of the INFERNO CLAWS!™ as well the ability to create, manipulate, be pretty much immune to and destroy fire, heat and electricity. INFERNO CLAWS!™ can cut through almost any material and burn at extremely high temperatures to incinerate hostiles and perfectly cook that steak for once. INFERNO CLAWS!™ can be activated or deactivated at will. She also has a variety of firearms and utility available, although that's not technically her ability.
Appearance: Casual outfit consists of black hoodie, orange or dark grey skirt, black tights and dark grey combat boots. Combat outfit is a black and orange full body suit made of a durable, flexible high-tech material, paired with gunmetal grey boots and either an orange metal mask or a black helmet. Fair skin, jet black hair with some orange here and there, blood red eyes.
Personality: Introverted, thoughtful, sometimes easily angered, might be slightly insane.
Backstory: When she was 16, a mass shooting took place at the major train station she was at, which left over 50 dead and more than 200 wounded. When attempting to leave, she ended up killing 2 shooters and disarming a third before running away, and the event has been stuck in her memory ever since. Once she turned 19, she enlisted in the military and spent several years serving in hopes that she would overcome her fears. Her skills led her to being selected for special forces training and some time later she was sent on several missions involving elimination of terrorists and finding out what sort of crude bioweapons and IEDs they were developing. Nail bombs, toxic gasses, incendiary devices, things along those lines. In one of these missions, her weapon was knocked out of her hands and she resorted to killing a terrorist with a blowtorch, which nobody found out about until later. Several months pass, another terrorist attack prompted the response of her CTU and during the firefight several Molotovs were thrown in their general direction. Raven returned to sender and took out several terrorists, as well as most of their equipment. This gained her the title of Inferno Supreme within the organisation and somehow also avoided getting them arrested.
After leaving to pursue other careers such as software development, she eventually started her own private organisation dedicated to secret investigations, intelligence missions and defence against terrorists. Their organisation is yet to be revealed to the public. She also develops improvements to her armour, weaponry and utilities.

Raven
You've been tracking a group of people you're pretty sure are extremists of the Movement. Liferaft United. This community takes the nonlethality license and the mission statement to the extreme. They capture and torture or imprison soldiers and fighters indiscriminately to sabotage them and extract information and perform further sabotage. They don't kill, but they're not really harmless, and they've gone after noncombatants who carry weapons, like refugees and hunters.
They carry sonic cannons. They emit an intense high pitched noise that causes pain from short bursts and destroy eardrums at longer exposure. They'd see you coming and hit you if you attacked right now. There's probably some part of the environment that could help you. What is it?

Hex
A squad of Dasnian salvagers spring into existence with a splash of purple smoke. Most of them are civilians. A few soldiers with rifles are there to protect them.

Crossing the lines where the rate at which time passes is suicide. Your atoms either squish together or spread apart as you cross, destroying you. The Dasnians adapted with mass produced, short range teleportation. That's why they're still intact and can use the time apocalypse to their military advantage.

"Hey, that toaster looks entirely intact!" says one of them, and they approach you with the intent to pick you up. What are your surroundings like?

Several trash cans near the extremists could be knocked over with a well-thrown rock, giving Raven a window to force enough voltage through one of their sonic cannons to make them overload and catch fire or at least disable it permanently. There's plenty of escape or evasion routes if that fails.

The trash clans clatter, drawing the attention of a couple squad members. The others glance, but quickly turn their eyes to watch their backs. Unfortunately, Raven is already close enough to cast. All but one drop their guns as they heat up and begin to smoke.

The one remaining one points her cannon at you and you have a split second to act. What tool comes in handy here?

A split second gives Raven enough time to fling a small fireball at the group. A direct hit would immediately set one on fire, but if that fails, which it likely will, the fireball can create a pool of fire for a short period of time. She can also get down after tossing it to avoid being hit by the cannon.

The disarmed fighters start a slow retreat while the one remaining one covers them by throwing herself at the fireball, which dissolves in wisps of smoke once it gets close to her.
Rolling out of the dive, she counterattacks, filling your ears with with a nauseating, head-splitting whine for a second until you hit the floor.

It seems like your magic isn't working on her.

I thought I was already on the floor from the whole "get down after fireball" thing.

She does have a couple grenades on hand to yeet at them without getting hit by the sonic cannon, and some earplugs to reduce the effects of it should that fail somehow. The nades have a wide area of effect horizontally, not much vertically, and is designed to be less detectible when hitting the ground.

oh, whoops.
The grenade takes out Ms. Antimagic instantly, who leaves a badly disfigured corpse.

Two others are badly injured, and the two who are still able-bodied rush to address their fallen. What are you trying to achieve? Do you kill or capture terrorists?

So anyway I started blasting knocking out all but one since they can't really fight back. As long as at least one is conscious but unable to fight then that's good.
She was aiming to get answers from them and killing them wasn't the priority but it seems enough noise has been made so she may have to kill more.
If any of them go for the functioning sonic cannon, she can kick their hands and hopefully keep them off.

They put up a valiant effort with their stun batons, but without their most developed caster they can't counter you very well. They're all momentarily dazed, but they are neutralized for a bit as far as combat goes. Violently making people unconscious involves either permanent brain damage or exhaustion... or magic.

The last one you've yet to punch in the face really hard brandishes his baton at you from the floor.
"You... you murderer! You'll pay for this! We're out here to solve problems like you!"

"And I'm here to solve problems like you," Raven kicks the baton and holds her Inferno Claws close to the terrorist.
"Tell me everything you know, and I might let you live,"

You need some better leverage here. They're people who have given themselves to risking their lives for the sake of others. They believe they don't fear death up until the moment where they see it coming but can't stop it.

They're sweating, and their skin is started to become red as the heat destroys tiny blood vessels.

Torture and threats seem to be not very effective. Perhaps you have friends elsewhere who specialize in this sort of thing? Turn this interrogation into a capture? ((That and I find playing the recieving end of a torture interrogation unenjoyable))
