The World
The Deepest Black is a rogue exoplanet that drifts somewhere in the vastness between stars. Its official name is planet ALEF-1239.

The planet's surface is completely water, but it is a rogue planet, meaning it orbits no sun. As a result, it has an impregnable layer of ice several kilometers thick, covering a layer of water, heated to liquid state by geothermal activity, sitting on a solid rocky crust. In short, it's a planet with a massive ocean, sandwiched between ice and rock.

Some decades ago, some humans took it upon themselves to explore this vast and cold ocean. Using a ridiculous amount of energy that is completely impractical to spend in most situations, they blew a hole into the icy surface and dropped a dimensional gateway portal into it before it froze back up, so they could move past that otherwise impenetrable surface ice for exploration. The installation that houses this gateway is Installation A.

The Situation
Over the years the researchers created a handful of installations that hang down from the icy surface. They can't build things on the bottom at this stage because of the pressure. The installations are only partially self sustaining, and generally they rely on Installation A for necessary resources. Unfortunately for everyone, Installation A stopped responding to all communications, and has stopped distributing supplies. Submarines manned and unmanned lose communications some 2 klicks away from the installation and don't come back. You can still see the lights of the installation bright as always, even from that distance.

The Setting
The first few characters will start as denizens of Installation B. The farming installation. While most of the main, single lettered Installations have a source of food. B is the only one that can actually feed everyone in the installation. There is not much to spare otherwise. It's a precarious situation, but everyone here is still enjoying normal meals for now. The current head coordinator's objective is to figure out how to help the other installations.

The Rules
1. Abide by standard TBG rules, naturally.

2. Players can have unlimited characters.

3. This roleplay is freeform.

4. This roleplay uses no dice. Instead, any player can step in to dictate a character's influence on the environment. If you are playing the character, don't power play. If you are playing the environment, aim for interesting story, not a challenge. (Of course, a challenge can be interesting, but make sure it's interesting.) Make sure to communicate and negotiate.

5. In PvP, players should decide the outcome before the fight, or at least before it ends. Does your character lose? Escape? Get injured? If you know the result from the start, you can focus on writing cool stuff, rather than trying to best the other player.

6. Any player can award another player an Inspiration point for doing something high quality or interesting with the plot. Something inspired, so to speak. A player can use an Inspiration point to uh... break rule 3. You can use an inspiration point to have your character surpass an obstacle or overcome a challenge, no questions asked... mostly. Be reasonable, you can make improbable things happen, but not impossible. Inspiration points can also be used to be the victor in rule 4, but it's up to the other player how their character loses. (Especially whether their character dies.) A player can have up to two inspiration points at a time.

7. A character can be accepted with two votes from players who have at least 1 inspiration point, in place of OP's acceptance.

\\/\/ [Inspiration Points: N/A]
Name: Anderson Cosmauti
Appearance:
47 years old
Male
A serious looking individual with blue eyes and jet black hair.
Occupation: Head Coordinator of Installation B.
Description:
Personality: A serious person. Current head coordinator of Installation B. He is determined to save lives and is always against sacrificing them.
Personal goal: Figure out how to help provide for the other installations, and reorganize personnel for long term facility maintenance.
Acquaintances: Probably a large number of people in Installation management.

Name: Renne Nebella
Appearance:
28
Female
A normally cheery looking woman, but recently there's not much to smile about. Nowadays she's more stressed or anxious looking. She has white hair and near-black brown eyes
Occupation: Logistical Clerk (She keeps track of supplies and resources)
Personality: She's a personable individual with an analytical mind. She always strives to use rationality over emotion in a crisis.
Description: She knows that Installation B won't be able to save everyone. In fact, they're going to have to be extremely careful with maintenance and recycling or Installation B won't be able to sustain themselves.
Personal goal: Convince the higher ups of Installation B to prioritize the survival of those in Installation B. Easy for her to say, she's relatively new and hasn't really made friends outside the installation yet.
Acquaintances: Some others in logistics

Name: Tango Astrophe
Appearance:
73
Female
Though her hair is white, modern medicine allows humans to live longer, so Tango is about in her 60s for real life humans more than han her 70s.
Occupation: Emergency Physician (ER Doctor)
Personality: Tango is rather married to her work. She keeps a cool head in a crisis, and likes to laugh out of one.
Description: Tango is a veteran of the Avail crisis, serving as an agent of the Global Destabilization and Labilization Contingency. Her memories of service haunt her, which is why she pursues her career in medicine so ferociously. Tango still has her shield that she used there.
Personal goal: She will be in vehement opposition to Renne's proposal that Installation B prioritize its own people over other installations. Her experience in Avail will have done that.
Acquaintances: She probably knows at least a few people in each installation.
Yours Truly,
